Day by day
Day 1. Arrival in Almaty. Transfer to the hotel "Otrar" ****. Accommodation, rest. Breakfast. City sightseeing: visit to the 28 Panfilov's guarsmen park, Cathedral. Museum of national musical instruments, National museum, Medeo gorge, Republic square (4 hours). Lunch. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. Breakfast. Transfer: Almaty - Samsy village - Tamgaly rock Art Gallery (163 km). Rock Art Gallery Tamgaly is unique cultural monument, which represents several historical periods, over approx. 20 c. Over 1000 petrogliphs from different epochs, beginning with the Bronze Epoch were discovered here. Visit. Lunch. Transfer: Tamgaly - Kanshengel - camels farm in Taukum desert (70 km). Base camp. Dinner. Overnight in the tents.
Day 3. Breakfast. Camelriding to desert. Back to base camp. Lunch. Transfer: Camels farm - Aydarly village - Kurtinsky reservoir - Ili river ( 800 m below Kapchagay hydroelectric power station) (165 km). Here, near hunter house, we set base camp. Lunch on the way. Dinner. Overnight in the tents.
Day 4. Breakfast. Rafting start on Ili river: Kapchagay hydroelectric power station - Budda petrogliphs - Dinamo training ground. (23 km). Rafting starts not far from Kapchagai water reservoir. In 1 - 1,5 hours a first mark is seen - it is an 8- meter high cylindrical rock on the left bank, called "Devil's finger". There are small islands in the river-bed. Soon, a "Rocky town" is seen to the right. The rocks there are covered with the marks of climbing routes - it is a place where Rescue Service of Almaty city is training in summer. In 1,5 - 2 hours another rocks are seen to the right - it is Tamgaly-Tas gorge, where on one of the rock the image of Buddha is engraved. After the short visit to the rock drawings - lunch. Rafting continue. In 30 minutes (2 km) mooring to the right bank - region of "Dinamo" training ground. Accommodation in tents. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 5. Breakfast. Rafting: "Dinamo" training grounds - Malaysary gorge (35 km). Canyon of river scale downs, the river becomes more wider to 350-400 m, but we will see beautiful rocks a long time. Lunch on the way. Stop on right bank of Ili river. Dinner. Overnight in the tents.
Day 6. Breakfast. Rafting finish on Ili river: Malaysary - Tasmurinsky canal (30 km). There are many canals, islands on Ili river at this part, soon, on the left bank - sunk barge and further, on the right - sluices of Tasmurynsky canal. The end of rafting. Lunch. Rest. Farewell dinner. Overnight in the tents.
Day 7. Breakfast. Transfer: Tasmurinsky canal - Kapchagay town - Almaty (150 km). Lunch on the way. Accommodation in the hotel. Rest. Dinner local cafe.Overnight at the hotel..
Day 8. Breakfast. Flight to Ust-kamenogorsk (2 hours). Arrival to Ust-Kamenogorsk. Transfer Ust-Kamenogorsk - Ridder - Gemma guest house (170 km). Accommodation in guest house. In the evening russian sauna, tea with fresh Altay honey. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 9. Breakfast. Start of trekking in Altay mountains. Hiking: Gemma guest house - Kedrovoye lake (8 km). The way runs along Palevaya Razlivanka river among Altay taiga with high-altitude. Flora changes. We can see alpine tundra. Pocket lunch. Further track runs on a mountain range among the Alpine flowered lowlands. The Panorama of Belaya and Chernaya Uba. In a good weather it is possible to see Insky Belok glacier. The camping in tents on the coast of Kedrovoye lake (H- 2200) Dinner. Overnight in the tents.
Day 10. Breakfast. Radial walking to "Stone town" area - high granite rocks with bizarre form. There are sources of Belaya and Chernaya rivers of East Kazakhstan. These rivers form Uba river upon confluence. Lunch. Dinner. Overnight in the tents.
Day 11. Breakfast. Hiking: Kedrovoye lake - the place called "Black node" (8 km). Ascent to range, to source of Turgusun river. On the full way we can see panorama of Turgusun river and Visheivanovsky glacier (H-2778 m). On the way - lunch at mountain hut. Hiking to Mezhozerny pass. Track lies along cascades of lakes. Accommodation in tents at the place "Black node". Dinner. Overnight in the tents.
Day 12. Breakfast. Hiking: "Black node" - Ozerny pass (9 km). The way lies along beautiful Palevoye lake and then along gorge of Pravaya Gromotuha river. On the way: lunch at the mountain hut. Further the way lies along cascade of lakes, forest. Near pass Ozerny is mountain lake. Our camp on the coast of lake. Dinner. Fishing (grayling). Overnight in the tents.
Day 13. Breakfast. Hiking: Ozerny pass - Podbelkovoye lake (6 km). Descent and in 1 hour we can see beautiful waterfall. Then descent via Ust-Kamenogortsev pass to Podbelkovoye lake. Lunch. Accommodation in tents on the coast of lake. Rest. Dinner. Overnight in the tents.
Day 14. Breakfast. Hiking and descent to valley of Palevaya Pazlivanka. Transfer by autotransport to guest house. Lunch. Transfer to Ust-Kamenogorsk. Accommodation at the hotel "Ust-Kamenogorsk" **. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15. Flight to Almaty. Arrival to Almaty. Accommodation in the hotel "Otrar" ****. Free time. Lunch and dinner at the local cafe. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16. Departure from Almaty.

Additional information
Rafting
1. Ili river has no technical difficulties, the water is warm for period from May.
2. We use classic rafts for 6-8 pax.
3. "Silk Road Adventures" company provides necessary equipment for rafting, including life jacket, but excluding diving suit.
4. We recommend bring shirt with long sleeves, hat, sun glasses, sun cream, because temperature is about +30 C and very hot on Ili river.
Trekking
1. Guests carry their personal things themselves while radial trekkings. Trekkings start from the camp in the morning with return to the camp in the evening.
2. "Silk Road Adventures" supplies with tents for living and mattresses, but doesn't supply with personal equipment. We recommend to bring: sleeping bags, warm and waterproof clothes. Also we recommend to bring repellents.
3. The clients must have their health insurance that covers all the expenses in case of accidents i.e. rescue works, transportation to the hospital and staying at hospital.
4. For the visa support it is necessary to send full personal data of the clients no later than 20 days before the program starts.
5. In the itinerary we point duration of driving. This duration does not include different stops: for photo, toilet, customs formalities, etc.
6. The horses carry 15 kg of the personal luggage of one certain client.
7. The road from Ust-Kamenogorsk to Leninogorsk is asphalt (140 km) and further, 30 km - ground road to Gemma guest house. Necessarily we use autotransport 4WD without a/c.
8. Gemma guest house - is small peasant farm. This farm is located 30 km from Leninogorsk, at Ivanovsky range foot among picturesque environments, high mountains with coniferous and mixed forest, mountain lakes and rivers, alpine meadows.
Farm consists of 2 wooden houses (each house for 3 pax) and 1 house (2 floors) for 6 pax. There is stove in each house. There are 2 Russian saunas.
There is old derrick on territory of guest house. There is daily communication with city by portable radio transmitter.There are 15 horses. You can use these horses for horseriding.
