The slalom run is 1500 meters long. Chimbulak has the chair lifts and rope tows. The season of the alpine skiing begins in the middle of November and ends at the beginning of April. The good mountain road and ensemble of cafes make the rest at Chimbulak careless and calm.
Gorelnik, the sporting center, is seen in a couple of kilometers from the barrier along a well-paved road. Three kilometers more following a fairly steep stream, sometimes twisting along the valley, sometimes past cliffs, and there; Chimbulak, the ski resort is before us.
The Chimbulak, resort is located in the picturesque Zailiy Alalau gorge, at 2200 m above sea level, 25 kilometers' from the Almaty city center.

The average air temperature is +20°C in summer and -7°C in winter. The snow coverage's thickness is 1.5 -1.8 m, and 90% of the days are sunny. The skiing season is from November up to May.
The mountain ski routes are served by three seals and three lowing cable lifts. These lifts will raise you up from 2200m in above sea level to the Talgar crossing at an altitude of 3200 m. The total route length is 3620 m for a change of altitude of up to 1000 m.
There are 3 stages to the cable-seat routes:
The 1 st stage is up to the Intersection station, the difference in height is from 2260 m up to 2630 m. the length is 1243m. The travel time is 9 min.

The 2 nd stage is from the Intersection station up to the 20th base station, the difference in height is from 2630 m up to 2930 m, the length is 948 m. The travel time is 7.5 min.
The 3 rd stage is from the 20th base station up to the Talgar crossing station, the difference in height is from 2930 m up to 3163m, the length is 860 m. The travel time is 8 min.
The Upper Bar, the Chimbulak cafe and cafe's in other spots operate around the mountain ski resort. The Hotel is a four-storied building with 108 places. The distance from the Hotel to ski lifts is 100 m.
