Public markets in Almaty

BARAKHOLKA
This is the name of a large bazaar on the outskirts of the town, consisting of many different bazaars, each of them with its own name. The bazaar territory begins with Adem Bazaar. Majority of the goods here are textiles mainly from China and from other countries like Turkey, Pakistan. The Barakholka Bazaar is one of the busiest part of Almaty city. Closed on Mondays.

GREEN BAZAAR (Zelyonniy Bazaar)
Green Bazaar is rather centrally located in the city. You can find any kind of food and meat and especially you can buy dried fruit and nuts imported from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Closed on Mondays.
